Los Angeles trio Temper City has set a 16-date North American headline run for spring 2027, opening March 9 in San Francisco and closing April 16 in Minneapolis. The group plans to release its debut album the same year, extending a cycle built on the streaming and radio momentum of its single "Self Aware."
A tour built on a breakout single
The run, titled "The Self Aware Tour," moves from West Coast clubs through the Mountain West, the South, the Northeast and into Canada before ending in the Upper Midwest. Stops include the Troubadour in West Hollywood, the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C., and Irving Plaza in New York. Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, October 30, at 10 a.m. local time, according to the announcement, with details available through the group's own tour page.
The schedule's emphasis on mid-sized venues suggests the band is consolidating a fanbase that has grown quickly through radio and streaming rather than through a full-length release. "Self Aware" has reportedly surpassed 933 million streams and spent ten weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart, while also topping Mediabase's Alternative chart for nine weeks.
Festival dates and the path to the album
Before the headline run begins, Temper City is booked at several high-profile events: iHeartRadio ALTer EGO on January 16, M3F Festival in Phoenix on March 5, the Coca-Cola Sips & Sounds Music Festival in Austin on March 6, and CRSSD Festival in San Diego on March 14. Festival slots of this kind typically serve to introduce a band to audiences outside its existing markets, and they give the group a live testing ground before the debut album arrives.
The band's recent singles, "Reverse Psychology" and "Sex & Drugs," return to a theme that runs through its catalog: the uncertainties of modern romance. The first traces the back-and-forth of a complicated relationship; the second asks whether intense but short-lived attraction reflects real feeling or only a passing rush. Together they preview the lyrical territory the album is likely to cover, though the full record has not yet been detailed publicly.
Behind-the-scenes history
Temper City is made up of singer-songwriter Eytan Peled and production duo Aviv Barenholtz and Chen Kordova. Before forming the group, the members spent about five years writing and producing for other artists across electronic, blues and rock, a background that helps explain the genre-crossing sound of their own material. Industry observers often view such a path as a sign of craft depth, though a longer track record of independent output would be needed to judge how the band's own identity will develop.
