London producer George FitzGerald is releasing ‘Lima Romeo’, his fourth studio album, on February 12, 2027, through Domino. The 11-track record features collaborations with Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor, Lil Silva, KUČKA, London Grammar’s Dot Major and others, and it draws on the instruments and working methods behind his 2015 debut, ‘Fading Love’.
Returning to the instruments he once sold
FitzGerald says that over the years he began getting rid of instruments he had used to write entire albums. He later questioned that decision, and the new record grew out of revisiting those machines. Rather than following current production trends, he set out to rediscover what the familiar equipment could still do.
The approach favors a more immediate, sometimes lo-fi style of recording. FitzGerald describes the album as shaped by patience, balance and the pleasure of making music with other people, rather than by endless polishing of every detail.
Collaboration and the album’s personal themes
The collaborations are central to the record. Alexis Taylor sings on “Water Blues,” a piano ballad that shows a quieter side of FitzGerald’s songwriting. Lil Silva, his longtime collaborator and partner in Otherliine, appears on “If You Wait.” Other guests include BJOERN and Lawrence Hart on “This Seat Is For You,” KUČKA on “Everything Falls,” and Dot Major on “Skeleton Leaves.”
The title refers to the postcode of FitzGerald’s studio, and the artwork draws on amateur radio. He compares making electronic music to operating a transmitter: he sends sounds out to listeners he will never meet and hopes they hear them. The idea of communication runs throughout the album.
The single “Hold” and upcoming performances
The new single “Hold” has been a regular feature of FitzGerald’s DJ sets over the summer, and he says audiences have responded strongly to it on dance floors. It follows the standalone single “The Ladder.” FitzGerald has also said he is wary of electronic music becoming a race to be louder, faster and bigger, a trend he believes can make producers forget the music itself.
His scheduled 2026 DJ dates include an all-night set at Phonox in London on November 7, an all-night set at Patterns in Brighton on December 5, and a performance at Warehouse Project in Manchester on December 19. A new live show is in development for 2027. ‘Lima Romeo’ will be released on black vinyl, CD and digital formats, with limited clear vinyl editions and a Domino Mart exclusive.
